The newly restored 4K version of Aarin Burch’s Dreams of Passion received its world premiere at the third Los Angeles Festival of Movies. Screening with the West Coast premiere of the new restoration of Mary Stephen’s Shades of Silk, Burch’s short returned to the screen for a young and engaged cinephile audience. The event launched a remarkable year of theatrical screenings and renewed attention to Burch’s intimate, formally adventurous portrayal of Black lesbian desire.
